Tartness is not what most people typically associate with a hot cup of tea. Tart teas, however, are incredibly delicious, and you would be truly missing out to not add at least one tangy offering to your regular hot beverage intake.

With this in mind, I would like to share my three favorite tart teas and their benefits for your enjoyment.

Three Tremendously Tasty Tart Teas

Hibiscus and Ginger

Packed with antioxidants. Lowers blood pressure and improves heart health. Aids in digestion and promotes gut and respiratory health (attributed to ginger). Anti-cancer.

  • Dried hibiscus flowers
  • Ginger (fresh crushed or dried powdered)
  • Sweetener of choice (to taste)

Lemon and Honey

Packed with antioxidants. Anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-cancer. Aids in digestion, weight-loss and appetite suppression. Helps sooth sore throat and boosts immune responses.

  • Fresh lemon juice
  • Honey (to desired sweetness, can be increased for sore throat aid)
  • Optional (you can also add ginger for added benefits and taste)

Apple Cider Vinegar and Cinnamon

Packed with antioxidants. Regulates blood sugar levels and blood pressure. Anti-inflammatory. Anti-cancer. Aids in weight-loss and appetite suppression.

  • Apple cider vinegar (1-2 tablespoons to taste)
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon or cinnamon
  • Sweetener of choice (to taste)

Most likely, since it is a popular therapeutic option that anyone who have ever used natural remedies to sooth a sore throat knows about, you have probably had a cup or two of lemon and honey tea in your life, but have you tried out any of the other two teas listed in this post?
