Practice Gratitude Today And Everyday

When you woke up today, did you express gratitude to the sun for providing the light that is necessary to sustain all of life? What about acknowledging the blessing that is water for its role in your basic survival and well-being, or the bacteria in your gut for helping you to digest foods that nourish your body in order to sustain your life?

Oftentimes, we get so busy with the routines and distractions of life that we lose touch with the things that truly matter.

We forget, as we go though our days, nights, and years, how remarkable our existence is; that there are powerful forces making our planet spin on its axis as we travel through space and time and that there are atoms that are constantly rearranging themselves to make it so that we are present and existing.

We forget how precious even the seemingly simplest of things are and how each small thing that makes our life continue day in and day out is truly a blessing to be appreciated, from the smallest gust of wind, to the people who bring us joy and happiness.

Today, be sure to pause and appreciate all that life gives to us in every moment. Practice gratitude for all of existence, not just today, but in every day to come.
