Sutra (Thread) or Lesson 28: Tajjapa Tadartha Bhavanam

Tad (taj): that (OM) | Japah: repetition | Tad: that (OM) | Artha: meaning | Bhavanam: reflection

In Yoga, a Japa is the intentional repetition of a mantra, which is a mystic word (or phrase) that “keeps the mind steady and produces the proper effect” of connection with one’s Highest Self/Source.

Japa, according to Sri Swami Satchidananda, is “communion with God through the repetition of holy name.”
